Will it fit your boat?

It works on pontoons, cruisers, houseboats, hunting boats, and docks — but every vessel is different, and measuring first beats returning later. Grab a tape measure; this takes two minutes.

  1. 17 inches of flat mounting space

The mounting plate needs at least 17" (43 cm) of flat, structurally sound surface on your swim platform, pontoon deck, or dock edge.

  2. Platform sits 18–20 inches or less above the water

Measure from the top of your platform down to the waterline. At 18–20" (46–51 cm) or less, the ladder reaches deep enough for dogs to get real footing.

  3. Two steps underwater

Fully deployed, at least two of the four steps must sit completely below the waterline. That's what lets your dog climb instead of scramble.

  4. You can drill three holes

Installation is a permanent mount: three drilled holes, hardware included. If your platform is cored or you're unsure about its integrity, ask us first.

Watch Angela set the ladder into its bracket and lower it into the water — this is the mounting setup your platform needs to fit.

Try the instant AI Fit Check

Drop in a photo of your platform and your two tape-measure numbers, and our AI gives you a read in seconds. Every check also goes to the nautiDAWGS family for a personal confirmation — the AI never gets the final word on your boat.

So the family can confirm your result.

Portfolio demo: on the live site, this step also takes 1-3 photos of your platform and the AI studies them with vision.

Not sure? Email us first — seriously.

Send a couple of photos of your platform or transom and your measurements, and we'll tell you straight whether the ladder works for your setup. We'd rather help you measure twice than have you ship a return — even though returns are covered for 60 days with prepaid shipping.

Important: the nautiDAWGS ladder is for dogs only, up to 100 lbs. It is not designed or rated for people, including children.
